We undertake detailed site appraisals, reviewing soil conditions, levels, and constraints, as well as engagement with local authorities, utilities and infrastructure bodies to de-risk and unlock sites for our clients.
By engaging with a project at early stages our civil engineers collaborate with geotechnical engineers to ensure the proposed development treads as lightly as possible, reviewing proposed levels alongside cut and fill, and bearing capacity analysis to minimise those materials being brought both to and from site.
As projects develop, our civil engineers become more engaged with the wider team, coordinating and detailing drainage points from the buildings with our architects and MEP engineers, and larger civil engineer features with our structural engineers.
Our civil engineers actively seek to incorporate more sustainable methods of surface water management as a first port of call – introducing SUDs such as infiltration surface finishes, swales, and other ecologically minded water management systems first.
